Suffered an ACL injury?

Reconstruction

Unfortunately, the majority of ACL injuries require reconstructive surgery. This means post surgery you won't be able to return to sport until 9 - 12 months time.

What can you do pre - surgery?

Following your surgery due to swelling, reduced movement and being non weight bearing for a long period of time. We see a huge drop in muscle activation and strength, which is highly important to support the knee & graft used to reattach the ACL.

Therefore,  it is so important to seek advice from a S&C coach or physiotherapist to show you exercises which you are able to do. So that when you go into surgery you are in the best physical condition.

Testimonials

Ella Mears - Dreams Netball Club, Itchen College 1st team & Nexus Academy.

Throughout my ACL rehab , Jack has been exceptional with helping me throughout the good and the bad days which has allowed me to grow as a person and to never give up even on learning to squat. He has been patient in the way I learn each exercise and somehow always finds a way to make me smile after a bad day.

Jack is very knowledgeable about his work and this has benefited me and my journey positively and has therefore allowed me to advance to the next stage of my rehab.

I am so thankful for Jack as he has challenged me and enabled me to thrive during my time with him and on my own work, which enabled me to become more confident and more resilient in my own ability and to gain trust within my knee.

Natalie Mears - Parent of Ella

From the outset, Jack conducted a thorough assessment of Ella’s condition and was able to create a personalised rehabilitation plan. He incorporated exercises that focused on strengthening her knee and surrounding muscles while also promoting flexibility.

GTC carefully monitored her progress, adjusting the intensity of workouts based on her feedback and recovery milestones. Jack always maintained open communication, encouraging Ella to voice any concerns about her recovery. This collaborative approach fostered trust and ensured that her needs were always prioritised. Jack provided regular check-ins to assess not just her physical recovery but also her emotional well-being, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of her progress.

GTC made it a priority to create a supportive environment. He encouraged Ella to express her feelings about the rehab journey, providing a listening ear whenever she felt frustrated or discouraged. Jack helped her set realistic goals, celebrating small victories along the way, which boosted her confidence and motivation. He believed that mental resilience was just as crucial as physical strength, and he worked with Ella to develop coping strategies that empowered her throughout the process.

Through his extensive knowledge and compassionate guidance, Jack created a supportive and individualised rehabilitation experience for Ella. His commitment to her physical, emotional, and mental needs made a significant difference, helping her navigate the challenges of ACL rehab with confidence and resilience. Together, they built a foundation that not only focused on recovery but also empowered Ella to thrive beyond her injury.
