Everyone seems to think that to be incredibly strong you have to spend 3 hours benching and doing bicep curls, Jack has made me realise that is not the case. He has helped me increase my strength and speed to improve my skills to eventually sign my first Rugby contract. He has given me the support to make the strongest I have ever been. Not only has he helped me physically, but he has supported me through psychological barriers which were hindering my progress. I built up a lot of confidence and trust in Jack over the two years he coached me and I feel my confidence in Strength and Conditioning has increased because of this.
When I came to Jack, I was suffering from two very weak hamstrings. Due to my size and mobility, we had to find ways to strengthen my hamstrings through repeated running, isometric holds and single leg strength exercises. Throughout this process, I had a few set backs both physically and mentally. I hated the idea of potentially missing rugby and I had to overcome issues in the gym through working with Jack. From persistent training and motivation I eventually began playing for Bath Rugby and at Ealing Trailfinders. The biggest outcome you want to see from an S&C coach is results.
The two years I spent training with Jack has increased has my physical strength in rugby and my speeds and this has enabled me to play at a high level. Also, my confidence in my own ability has improved greatly through working with Jack and I now play to the best of my ability in Rugby throughout the year.
